The Helderberg Society is proud of this unique feature that adds to the quality of service we can offer. All our carers are required to complete the training course presented at our very own Training Centre, under the leadership of Dr Marlene Wamsteker.
The Training Centre, which was founded in 1991, is accredited by the South African Nursing Council as a training facility and registered with the Department of Education in terms of the Further Education & Training Act. It is also registered as a non-profit organisation (059-906NPO). Since its inception, some 2300 learners have been registered with the Centre. Many of these auxiliary nurses and care givers have gone on to further their nursing careers through one of the public or private teaching hospitals.
Learners come from the Helderberg , Oudshoorn, George, Grabouw, Elgin, Caledon, Gansbaai, Stellenbosch, Northern Suburbs, Standfontein, Ysterplaat, Worcester, Macgregor, De Doorns, Ceres, Botriver, Wolsely, Prince Albert, Springbok, Eastern Cape and beyond the South African borders.
